BUSINESS RELATIONS

LESSON #3:

BUSINESS RELATIONS

Business relations are very important because these are the things that keep your business moving and in existence. Are you an honest business man or a conman?
How do you treat your prospects? Most importantly how do you treat the people who surround your business?

It’s always important to;

·        Remember people's names and treat everyone well. This habit, along with enthusiasm, is one of the great success secrets. Everyone in this world wears an imaginary button that screams out "I WANT TO FEEL IMPORTANT AND APPRECIATED!" -- Robin S. Sharma

Speak sense don’t just blurt out whatever comes to your head. Have composure seek wisdom it is very important. Keep away from gambling risks and always seek advice when necessary.

On the subject of conversation, a Chinese proverb states as follows: "a single conversation across the table with a wise man is worth a month's study of books." Seek out the wise and learn from them. They are just waiting for that small spark of interest to tell you all that you need to know-- Robin S. Sharma

BUSINESS LANGUAGE

LESSON #2:

BUSINESS LANGUAGE

Did you know that the most successful business men are those with good listening skills? What is your business language? Are you the listening type or are you the know-it-all type that doesn’t want to listen? In my earlier lessons I gave two of my entrepreneur role models and one thing I noted with them is that they listen. Tyra Banks being one of them takes time to listen to the girls who compete in her show. It’s important to know what your employees think and what ideas they bring to the table much as you have the final decision. It is also important to listen to your clients.

·        Do not talk when you are listening. Interrupting is one of the most common discourtesies. Listen aggressively with the full scope of your attention. You will be amazed at what you learn and how your counsel will soon be sought by many. -- Robin S. Sharma

Is your business language simple and humble yet firm?

·        Lao-Tzu prized three essential qualities for a person of greatness: "the first is gentleness; the second is frugality; the third is humility, which keeps me from putting myself before others. Be gentle and you can be bold; be frugal and you can be liberal; avoid putting yourself before others and you can become a leader among men-- Robin S. Sharma

Does your temper get the best of you when things don’t go your way? How do you handle a heated situation?

·        "Anybody can become angry - that is easy; but to be angry with the right person, and to the right degree, and at the right time, and for the right purpose, and in the right way -that is not within everybody's power and is not easy." - Aristotle

MALE ENTREPRENEURS

MALE ENTREPRENEURS

LESSON #1:

 APPEARANCE

In the business world men are expected to dress to address important issues. To show trust, confidence, responsibility and performance. Did you know that how you dressed in high school affects 70% of your after school dress code? Even if you never went to school did you know that the environment where you grew up from will also affect your dress code? Unless you have the exceptional X-factor.

If you never tucked in your shirt at school, or wore your tie properly, chances are you will find it cumbersome and uncomfortable to keep up that dress code. If you were used to re-cycling your shirt say by putting a hankie at the collar or wearing your boxers two days in a row will affect how you appear and hygiene.

Most males say that it’s ok for a man to be untidy and that a woman should be there to clean after them, but I call that laziness and indiscipline. If you had poor showering habit in high school it becomes hard to adapt to a better one if one is a bachelor. Smelling sweat at 7:30am is indiscipline because deodorants are cheap and available plus a necessity. Recycling underwear and clothes is also indiscipline. Having bad breath and alcohol stinking breath is indiscipline. Smelling cigarette smoke is indiscipline and no one will take you seriously. So my brothers watch you hygiene we need well kempt and disciplined entrepreneurs.

TIPS from: The Top 200 Secrets of Success and the Pillars of Self-Mastery -- Robin S. Sharma
·        In terms of business attire, dark suits (navy blue and charcoal grey) reflect power, sophistication and authority. Have you ever seen a prime minister or president in a tan suit?

·        Be careful about your reputation. If it is good it will take you to the highest of heights. But once tarnished, it will be difficult to retrieve. Always reflect on your course of action.

Never do anything you wouldn't be proud to tell your mother about. Have fun always but temper it with common sense and prudence.

GOSSIP

LESSON #6:

GOSSIP

One of the biggest weaknesses in women is GOSSIP………how much do we love a juicy rumor or story from people we love and hate. Gossip is really enticing addictive and exciting, the basis to judge everyone but yourself.

Much as we ladies love gossip we forget that the people who tell you about others also tell others about you, so none of us is excluded from the gossip circle. But this is very dangerous as far as your business is concerned. Gossip can destroy your business in a few minutes than it will help you build it up with your reputations.

So avoid gossip as much as you can 99% of gossip is for destroying and not building. Keep your reputation and business and avoid anything that will lead to gossip.

·        Never discuss your health, wealth and other personal matters with anyone outside of your immediate family. Be very disciplined in this regard.

·        Remain slightly aloof. Do not let everyone know everything about you. Cultivate a mystique.

·        Be kind, considerate and courteous. But also be shrewd and know when to be tough and courageous. This is the mark of a well-defined character and you will surely command respect. It is most useful to read books on friendliness and enhancing relationships by being a good listener, showing others sincere appreciation and refining other interpersonal skills. But, to truly succeed, one must also recognize that worldly wisdom and shrewdness are essential skills to foster. Become an expert in human psychology and be able to read the essence of people. Never be taken advantage of and be aware of the politics around you. Stay above petty gossiping and office politics but appreciate that they indeed exist and know what goes on behind your back. Every great leader does.
