REAL ESTATE

LESSON #4:

REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT.

This is the field that the modern woman should start engaging in ever since women got emancipation. In olden times women could not inherit property because they were said to be property themselves, but with the world revolving this investment field should not be left for the men alone. There is a proverb that goes “when a woman’s hand tills the land it bares fruit”. So why not invest in buying land other than buying that pair of shoes that goes for Ugx.800, 000 or a dress of Ugx. 2,500,000?

Be a good investor, real estate is a very profitable industry because it covers the 2nd most important basic need –shelter, because shelter needs land and without shelter humans are vulnerable to harm.

To learn this industry you first have to think like a land owner. What does it mean to be a land owner? If I have land what will I do with it? How do I make my land generate money? How do I protect my land from encroachments, land Wrangles?

Secondly you must be your own land broker before you hire a professional land broker. Get to know the brokers language, how they work, how they get connections, commissions and most importantly how they sell and buy land on behalf of their clients. Brokers are very tricky and cunning people so sharpen up you’re A -game before they sharpen you up with bad experiences.

Third know more about what is involved in being a land owner, all the legal ownership rights, legal documents, land titles, land agreements, building plans or land upgrading plans, urban planning e.t.c. Never trust your legal documents with anyone maybe your lawyer or partner (depending on the relationship you have), but better still trust only yourself, because land is like money it divides people.

These things might be many but are not complicated once learnt. Plus a woman’s mind can keep more data and multi-task faster than a man’s brain in a single day. So why not start investing in things that gain value with time other than things that lose value and out date in fashion with time.
